"… Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses." - Juvenal (Roman poet circa AD 100)

BREAD & CIRCUS an original show by Telluride Theatre, written by Sasha Sullivan in collaboration with the cast, in a 6 week devising process. This is the 7th year of the original show. BREAD & CIRCUS is set 30 years in the future, when the entertainment machine is even more out of control, used as a device to appease the masses and keep them placated. Public approval of politics and the corporate culture is gained by distractification, tittitainment and superficial satisfaction. One man sees through and starts an armchair revolution to take down the system and bring truth, beauty and love back to the people.
